Jockey Launches Collection of “Major Must Haves” with support by Rachel Zoe

Ladies, are you ready to get glam? Jockey officially announced its partnership with stylist and fashion icon Rachel Zoe. Beginning October 2012, Zoe’s selection of “must have” shapewear and intimates will be available in stores and online. Each carefully selected item marries our expertise in creating comfortable, stylish, solution-based apparel with Zoe’s enviable style and sophistication.

Rachel Zoe, a name synonymous with fashion and glamour, has become the definitive expert on style. But, as we both know, it’s not just about what we wear on the outside – what’s underneath is just as important.

Whether dressing for a power lunch or night on the town, the right underpinnings make the most of your curves and what’s in your closet. Our new collection mirrors the Zoe fashion and is both stylish and insanely comfortable.

“I’m proud to support Jockey’s new initiatives in shapewear and intimates,” said Rachel Zoe. “Style starts from within, and having the right foundation is critical to the ultimate success of your outfit. I love marrying comfort with style, and this new collection by Jockey does just that.”

The shapewear can be best described as “cotton-rich comfort meets all-day curve control.” Featuring unique, patented three-panel design, this new line includes tanks, shorts, slips and briefs that are fashionable, comfortable and slimming. Each piece is made with breathable, soft cotton-spandex for all-day comfort.

The collection also offers two distinct lines of fashion-forward intimates in a variety of styles including bikinis, thongs, hipsters, boyshorts and tanks. The bottoms offer a “cheeky” cut with very modern silhouettes. Each style is available in eye-catching solids and on-trend prints. Fabrications including microfiber modal, nylon and spandex guarantee comfort, while feminine detailing, such as touches of lace, adds a flirty flair.

Our new collection of shapewear and intimates will hit the market in October 2012.

Striking a Pose: Athletes in Underwear Ads

Athletes striking a pose in their undies shouldn’t surprise you. In a recent USA TODAY article, “Athletes not shy to strut in underwear ads,” it is highlighted that jocks exposed in their underwear is becoming more commonplace.

For a BRIEF trip down underwear lane: In the 1970’s Jockey introduced the first ad of a pro athlete posing in their skivvies. The print ad featured Hall of Fame pitcher, Jim Palmer. Palmer’s ad was the first display of a pro athlete in their underwear. Palmer modeled the Elance bikini brief, the most provocative of the Jockey fashion line.

These days, pro quarterback Tim Tebow has been sporting Jockey underwear. The college gridiron star and Heisman Trophy winner joined Jockey as the spokesman of our Jockey staycool collection – our newest line of men’s and women’s temperature regulating underwear and t-shirts.

Legendary Service … that “has your back”

Leota G. of Shelton, WA, has had customer service experiences that made her want to cry. But, not this time.

While placing her order on with personal shopper Laura F., Leota mentioned her upcoming back surgery. She had no idea what Laura had in store for her. Days later, Leota received a wonderfully comfy Jockey robe and a special “Get Well” card from Laura.

“When I opened the package, I just cried,” Leota shared. “I have never known a company to do anything like this. You can bet I will tell everyone about it. I have already told my family. Thank you so much for being so kind!”

Us Weekly Celebrates Hot Bodies

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s got the hottest body of them all. On Saturday, June 2, Jockey helped Us Weekly give the official salute to summer with an afternoon pool party at LIQUID at the ARIA Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The annual event featured fun in the sun, tasty treats and giveaways.

When party-goers weren’t staying cool in the pool, we hooked them up with custom designed Jockey staycool tees to help beat the Vegas heat. After all, no one likes to sweat at a party.

LEGENDARY SERVICE … that makes a big impression

Beth L., of Connecticut, couldn’t believe her eyes when she opened her mailbox. Inside, there was a hand-written envelope. “Hmm …” she wondered, “Was it a clever mailing by a charity or marketer trying to lure her to open it?”

Nope. It was a greeting card. A real, hand-written greeting card wishing her a speedy recovery from Paula S., a Jockey personal shopper.

“I mentioned to her that I was going through chemo, and I guess she cared,” says Beth. “That really stands out these days, such a simple thing, but it makes a big impression.”

Like the saying goes, “It’s the little things in life that matter most.” We’d love to hear, have you experienced a random act of kindness that really made your day?
