Us Weekly Celebrates Hot Bodies

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s got the hottest body of them all. On Saturday, June 2, Jockey helped Us Weekly give the official salute to summer with an afternoon pool party at LIQUID at the ARIA Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The annual event featured fun in the sun, tasty treats and giveaways.

When party-goers weren’t staying cool in the pool, we hooked them up with custom designed Jockey staycool tees to help beat the Vegas heat. After all, no one likes to sweat at a party.

Our “Staycool at The ESPYs” contest is officially a wrap! Thank you to everyone that entered and shared the contest with family and friends. If you missed it, Jockey and its participating retailers, Bealls, Belks, Boscovs, Lord & Taylor and Navy Exchange, each offered one lucky fan (and a guest) an opportunity to attend THE red-carpet event of the sports world PLUS meet one of sports’ biggest stars. The Jockey Staycool Winter Getaway

We’ll apologize in advance for mentioning the “w” word in spring, BUT we have a good reason. We just received exciting news that the winners from our Jockey Staycool Winter Getaway returned home from their trip (with pictures!). If you missed it, back in November we hosted a contest on our Facebook page offering one lucky fan and a guest an all-expense-paid trip to hit the slopes in beautiful Vail, Colorado.

The winners, Amy and Tony from Florida, were kind enough to share their experiences and trip highlights along with some terrific photos.

“On our first day,” Amy and Tony shared, “We definitely took time getting accustomed to the high altitude. The weather was warm and sunny and we enjoyed exploring the town, settling into our hotel and getting fitted with ski equipment.” Day two included hitting the slopes and brushing up on their skiing skills. “The conditions were icy at first, but the snow softened up as we got more confident with our skis. We spent all day at Mid Vail and also alternated between Mountaintop and Wildwood Express.”

Like any good vacation, hitting up the local restaurants always makes for a good time and awesome eats. This was true for Amy and Tony. “There were so many fabulous restaurants to choose from. Some our favorites were Pepi’s German Restaurant, pizza at Vendetta’s and burgers on the deck at Red Lion.”

Jockey Featured on TODAY Show

Jockey staycool was featured in a segment during the fourth hour of the TODAY Show. The segment showcased fashion looks and pieces that can be worn in any season. Our women’s white Jockey staycool tee is featured toward the end of the segment with a weekend look titled, “Basics with benefits,” discussing the benefits and technology behind the staycool collection.

Staycool, everyone!

Tim Tebow photo curiosity

Some media outlets and bloggers are expressing curiosity about our recent use of an image of Jockey spokesman, Tim Tebow. Maybe you are, too, so we thought we’d set the record straight!

Jockey has a great relationship with our spokesman, Tim Tebow, and we’ll always feature Tim in a manner befitting who he is, and what we mutually agree on to be tasteful and appropriate.

As Tim was leading his team to the playoffs, Jockey had a campaign supporting Tim’s efforts, and the Jockey.com homepage image we used of Tim in the locker room wearing our Jockey SPORT collection (you can see the waistband) was meant to express a powerful, competitive tone and be topical. The photo nicely complemented the corresponding copy, “Playoffs. Tebow Time.” When Tim’s team was no longer in contention for the championship, we reformed the homepage copy to express “Thanks for showing us how to staycool this season” (Tim is the face of the Jockey® STAYCOOL collection), and changed the homepage photo to feature Tim wearing his favorite staycool t-shirt with timely, corresponding copy.

That’s it. Really. Sometimes the truth is far less interesting than imagination!
