Jockey International, Inc. Debuts Footwear

KENOSHA, Wis. (June 23, 2015) – Jockey International, Inc. today announced the launch of men’s and women’s casual footwear, a new licensed category for Jockey. The heritage American brand is partnering with internationally recognized footwear experts, The Eastman Group, to design, manufacture and market casual footwear, slippers, flip flops, and athleisure styles for men and women that deliver on Jockey’s tradition of innovation.

Jockey has been searching for the perfect partner with whom they can expand into the footwear space, a long-awaited category for the brand. Athleisure, a combination of casual and active lifestyles, will be the focus of the collection, filling a void in the industry with comfortable, casual and durable footwear for a variety of activity levels.

Founded in 1986, The Eastman Group specializes in technical fabrics and innovative techniques; the perfect match for Jockey whose mission is to provide high quality, comfortable and innovative apparel to consumers.

Jockey’s new men’s and women’s footwear collections will feature cutting edge materials which regulate temperature; cooling in warm weather and insulating in the cold. The shoes will also include moisture-wicking fabrics with anti-microbial properties; a must-have in footwear. The full collection will feature slippers in the fall months, sandals in the warmer seasons, and casual athleisure footwear year-round.

The new Jockey footwear collection will debut with a soft launch for the spring/summer 2016 season, with a full launch in fall/winter 2016.

Enter “The Solutionary™,” Jockey’s new dictionary of fearless solutions to define and conquer every summer fashion obstacle with Jockey Skimmies® slipshorts, an everyday underwear that smooths like a slip and covers like shorts.

To bring these funny and all too familiar fashion dilemmas to life, Jockey teamed up with actress Alyson Hannigan (“How I Met Your Mother,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “American Pie”) to create a series of online videos – highlighting The Solutionary™ – which will be featured on Jockey’s website. Women are #SavedBySkimmies when Alyson takes to the streets to intercept real-life fashion obstacles and helps the potential victims avoid embarrassment and confidently step out in the latest summer styles. The first of the films, entitled “Flash Cycle,” is set to debut on June 17 with three additional films rolling out in the following weeks.

(August 19, 2014) – Jockey International, Inc. announces a new marketing campaign under the platform “Supporting Greatness” which features historical greats Babe Ruth, Buzz Aldrin and George Patton. The iconic underwear brand tapped its rich history of superior products and high-profile fans to showcase the legacy of great men who were supported by Jockey during their remarkable careers.

This multi-channel TV, print and digital campaign plays on the triple entendre of “Supporting Greatness”: literally, Jockey is greatness and has best-in-class products; emotionally, Jockey supports all great men in life; and functionally, Jockey’s features and benefits support great quality.

The broadcast, print and digital elements ask audiences to imagine what further greatness these men could have achieved with modern-day Jockey underwear as the campaign depicts Babe Ruth hitting a home run, Buzz Aldrin walking on the moon and General Patton leading his men to victory, and marry the historical feats with a modern-day depiction of how underneath their respective pinstripes, spacesuit, and camouflage uniforms, Jockey underwear was supporting them along the way.

Aligning with their commitment to provide on-trend yet functional products, Baby Jockey’s styles are fabricated from cotton interlock (95%) and spandex (5%) for ease of movement and comfort. The collection also includes features such as lap shoulders for easy over-the-head dressing, and snap-crotch or full-front openings for simplified diaper changing.
