Kenosha, Wis. – Jockey International, Inc. today announced that it has signed Kenosha native and professional football player Melvin Gordon as a community ambassador. Jockey has called Kenosha home since 1892. In his role, Gordon will collaborate with the company on community initiatives in support of Jockey Being Family Foundation, Ltd. (“Jockey Being Family”), Jockey’s corporate initiative, which provides post-adoption resources and support to help adoptive families stay together, forever.
“Melvin Gordon represents the very essence of Kenosha,” said Debra S. Waller, Chairman and CEO of Jockey, and founder of Jockey Being Family. “He is a quality young man, hard worker, makes a difference in the community and strives to always get better at his craft, on and off the field. He embodies everything Jockey, Jockey Being Family and our community stands for. He can make a real impact and we’re thrilled to have him.”
Gordon will also make appearances on behalf of Jockey and Jockey Being Family, highlighted by the inaugural Jockey Being Family® Gala and Golf in Lake Geneva, Wis. May 15-16, 2016.
“I’m extremely happy to join my hometown company, Jockey, as a community ambassador,” said Gordon. “I come from a strong family network, so I’ve always admired the Jockey brand and their community involvement with Jockey Being Family. I look forward to sharing their message and goodwill throughout the area.”
Gordon graduated from Kenosha Bradford (Wis.) High School in 2011 and went on to have an outstanding football career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW). In his senior year at UW, Gordon was voted the top running back in the nation and second best player at any position. Gordon has had just as much success off the field serving in the community and excelling in the classroom – Gordon has volunteered at homeless shelters, coached youth football teams and received academic honors while at UW.

We here at Jockey pride ourselves on being innovative. We invented the men’s brief in 1934. We were the first company to stitch our brand on the waistband of the underwear. We created a new category in women’s innerwear with the Skimmies® slipshort. And now we bring you this little gem: How to give the best 6-pack (of underwear) this Christmas. And for the most part it has nothing to do with abs or beer.
Here’s your checklist:
(1) 3-pack of men’s Jockey StayNew® T-shirts
(1) 3-pack of Men’s Classic Stretch Boxer Brief
(1) Empty six-pack carrier
(1) Big red bow
Your last bit of work is to decide on the recipient: dad, brother, husband, boyfriend or just a special guy in your life. Or make as many as you need. We won’t mind.
