We’re in the spirit.

From the athletes in Vancouver to everyday athletes in our very own backyard, we are both amazed and inspired by what people can achieve when they put their minds to it.  We also understand that we’re all human.  We get too busy, super stressed and have schedules that are jam-packed with so much “stuff”.  Many times, working out and making an effort to live a healthy lifestyle gets pushed to the side.

We’re challenging you to put your health first.  Find a sport or activity that interests you…and give it a whirl.  What do you have to lose? Whether it’s a couple times a week or 30 minutes a day, take some time for you.  You deserve it!

For those that are just getting started or simply stuck in a rut, here are some tips from our REAL athletes who helped launch Jockey’s 2010 activewear collection.  (They really know their stuff.)

WORKOUT TIPS:
When it comes to working out, the best thing you can do is set tangible goals.  Instead of saying “I want to run a fast mile”, say “I want to run a 6 min mile” or “I want to lower my body fat”, say “I want to lower my body fat by 4%”.  It makes training so much easier and when you set goals in that way, you are able to stay motivated!!!! - AJ, Boxer

Results will vary.   What works for one person doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for another.  But, one thing remains constant, do nothing and you can guarantee your results. - Sabin, Skateboarder

Have a “plan” going into the workout….if you are feeling tired or unmotivated going in with a plan or a purpose for the workout (even if it is just an “easy” day) will keep you going. - Jenny, Long Distance Runner

Consistency!  It takes so long to get to a certain level of fitness and so short to lose it. Keri, Rock climber

Eat a decent meal (not too heavy) about 90 minutes before your workout. Your body needs fuel! Plus, drink plenty of water before, during and after. Marc, Boxer

Work the core no matter what you are doing. - Sandra, Cyclist

Try not to cut workouts short, you’ll be proud of yourself and feel great after you complete your whole workout.  It’s a mental game.Stacey, Swimmer

Keep your core muscles contracted in whatever workout you do!  Walking, running, squads, push-ups, etc. - LaCrisha, Runner

Questions? We’ve got answers.

Actually, our customer service team has all the answers! Our personal shoppers are experts on all Jockey® products and shopping jockey.com. Plus, they are some of the nicest, most helpful people you’ll ever meet. Here’s a quick-reference guide of our most frequently asked questions.

1. Do you still make my old favorite?
We just might. Jockey.com® carries quite a number of online exclusives that you can’t find anywhere else. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, contact one of our personal shoppers. If we don’t have what you’re looking for, they can introduce you to the next best thing.

2. How could your factory forget to put the fly in my brief?
While nobody is perfect, that’s one mistake we’ve never heard of. But we do make several no-fly briefs by design. Now and then, we hear from men who buy one by mistake and just can’t believe a brief would intentionally be made without a fly. In fact, the world’s first brief (invented by Jockey in 1934) had no fly. And these guys are surprised to learn how many men are still dumbfounded when their brief actually does have a fly. (See next question)

3. Does any guy really use the fly?
Yes indeed. A lot of science has gone into its design since we first introduced the fly in 1936. But we know that lots of guys want their underwear drawer to be a perpetual “no fly zone,” and so we make briefs in no-fly styles.

4. Why do your underwear colors and prints change so much?
White, black and other basic colors are classics that never go out of style. But many customers also count on us to provide a little fun and a little fashion. And so our designers make regular trips to Paris to see where fashions are headed. The colors and prints we design are carefully crafted to reflect the latest in fashion–which is always changing.

5. Why does my waistband lose its elasticity?
Do you use chlorine bleach? The modern elasticizers we use in our waistbands are designed for the very softest, most comfortable fit. And they’ll keep their stretchiness–unless chlorine bleach is used, particularly in amounts more generous than recommended by the detergent manufacturers. That’s why our care labels advise not to use chlorine bleach.

6. Why has my waistband changed colors after washing?
Chlorine bleach. And if you’re asking this question, you’ll soon be asking the previous question, so please try a non-chlorine bleach. You’ll be so glad you did!

7. What about sweatshops?
Jockey’s been a family-owned business since it was founded in 1876, and we strive to maintain the same family values on which we were founded.

We’ve long led the fight against sweatshop labor. In all of our facilities, we ensure the respect, dignity, and well being of our workers by providing ethical and conscientious working conditions. We also work hard to make contributions in their communities so that they will be better for having had us as neighbors. In addition, Jockey and two other apparel manufacturers led the way in 2000 to develop WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production), an independent, nonprofit organization that took the fight against sweatshops into outsourced apparel facilities around the globe. (To learn more about WRAP, you can visit their website at http://www.wrapapparel.org/.)

Not only do these many endeavors reflect our values and those of consumers like you, but by being good corporate citizens, we can rest assured that our products are being produced with pride.

8. How do I find my size?
It’s easy at Jockey.com®. Just click on your favorite product and you’ll find a complete listing of colors and sizes available. Below the sizes, you’ll find a “size chart” link that will take you to a size chart with all the answers to all your questions.

9. How do I return an item from my Jockey.com order?
Your 100% satisfaction is guaranteed! Returns are free on any Jockey.com® order. Simply follow the Printable Return Form instructions.

10. What is the swirl symbol I see on my underwear and online?
The Jockey® brand icon of a horse-riding jockey, which was introduced in 1939, evolved over the decades through the twenty-first century.

After a great deal of work and thought, we developed The Jockey Swirl Icon as the embodiment of the Jockey Brand. The Jockey Swirl Icon origins are in the Jockey design philosophy of “Modern Prairie” – the mathematics in nature. The circle is the universal symbol of Unity and a metaphor for globalization. The triad of seed pods symbolizes renewal. The icon itself is mathematically perfect which equals beauty. It’s our hope that our customers will be as comfortable with this new icon as they are with our apparel.
